COUNSELING
Instructor: Mrs. Haley

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking.
It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.

Greetings!

The school year is flying by and the summer is fast approaching!  Students will be taking math MCAS the first 2 weeks in May.  Last day of school for seniors is May 22nd; last day of school for all other students is June 24th.

In group counseling, students have been learning about working together and cooperating through group activities such as games and group projects.  When the weather permits, students will go outside for group counseling for movement-based activities and a little fresh air and sunshine.

Students have also been learning about "mindfulness" and relaxation strategies to help them cope with stress.  Please see the link to read more about what mindfulness is and how it is being utilized to successfully treat depression and anxiety.  Also, research is demonstrating that individuals who regularly practice mindfulness have better "brain health" and have a lower risk of later brain disorders, including dementia.

We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking.

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.
